The Irish nation has a long tradition in Equine sport, especially in the county of Kildare.
Famed for its many Stud farms - Racecourses and Three day events. With the Dublin Horse Show only twenty five kilometers away; the siting of HARTWELL STUD in the middle of these facilities, offering the best of grassland and unpolluted waterways of this breeding country, gives the breeder sure knowledge of success when using the performance sires of HARTWELL STUD.
Hartwell Stud is well known for its quality horses. The most famous being "CRUISING" Irish sport horse stallion and International show jumper, and SEACREST registered Irish draught and grade A show jumper. Both sires of champions. "SAM GEMJEE" now standing at Hartwell stud. Quality mares and young stock up to 6 yrs old for sale world wide. Hartwell Stud is a fully approved International Quarantine and Reproductive facility. HARTWELL STUD was founded in the 1880, and has been brought to its present status by owners David and Mary McCann over the last 40 years.
HARTWELL STUD has concentrated on breeding performance horses for the world equestrian market of Show Jumping and Eventing. Through selective breeding of the Irish Sport Horse, they have combined the Irish Draught (renouned world wide as a foundation cross for topclass performers) with the threequarter bred and thoroughbred, to produce some of the best young horses jumping and eventing in the world today.
HARTWELL STUD is approved by the Department of Agriculture for the collection and export of frozen and chilled semen and embryo transfers. This centre comes under all regulations for export of semen throughout Europe, Australia, U.S.A., etc.

Hartwell Stud has the facilities to keep stallions and mares throughout the breeding season for collecting and covering services.
Hartwell Stud provide full and grass livery for horses retired or with injuries requiring rest and recouperation. With a horse walker, indoor and outdoor facilities.

International Progeny
By December 1999 Cruising had competed in over 138 recognised International showjumping classes winning no less than 18 International Grand Prix’s including Aachen, the greatest Grand Prix in the world. Cruising was ranked 2nd best stallion in the BCM world ranking for own winnings in showjumping. Competing at top level for many years means that Cruising competed, was placed, or won, at nearly every International showjumping event in his career.

He is a super Stallion prospect for the future of breeding showjumpers.
